This morning I was reading a Time For Kids magazine when something caught my eye. It was about Mount St. Helens acting up again. For the past six months, Mount St. Helens, in Washington state, has been rumbling. On March, 8 Mt. St. Helens spewed a humongous 30,000 foot cloud of ash! If I were in that situation I would to my house and hide under my bed. The eruption sent tourists running for their lives as if they were being chased by a giant man eater bug. Mt. St. Helens has been tempted to erupt since September 23, 2004. Thousands of tiny earthquakes shock the mountain as if it were a piggy bank. Scientists are not keeping there eyes off the sleeping giant. The last time it blew it's top off was May 18,1980. Forests were turned into ashes like a card box in a fire. Predict what would happen to the sleeping giant.
I took this article and rewrote it in my own words. This is an example of word choice and voice. We are studying Six Traits Of Writing in class. It is in my own words because I didn't copy every word from the article. It is in voice because I'm saying my opinions.
